Rigid or Flexible?

flexiblePolyMed materials are available in a wide variety of configurations to meet application challenges, including your choice of rigid or flexible tubing. PolyMed in a flexible configuration is highly resilient and springs back to its original shape. Metal counterparts can become permanently bent after being pushed past yield strength, becoming unusable. Need a rigid tube? PolyMed can also be configured to provide high rigidity with an excellent strength to weight ratio compared to stainless steel.


Unlike plastic tubing, Polygon medical composites can withstand a standard steam autoclave. Disposable surgical cannulas are also possible if desired. Many types of disposable tubing are possible, and Polygon can balance designs around many sterilization options.

Better than Steel

Polygon composite tubing has a higher strength to weight ratio than steel. Smaller composite cannulas are possible due to this increased strength. This is particularly advantageous to the minimally invasive surgical market. Thin tubing walls allow device engineers to add more functions in the same space, reducing the need for equipment changes.

High Dielectric Strength
